JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a reliable Medical Assistant to work in a busy Nephrology private practice. Candidates must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate must be experienced in providing exceptional customer service, patient care as well as following directives from the physicians to ensure all testing and referrals are completed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Ensures all patients are roomed in a timely fashion and keep the Doctor on track with his/her schedule.

•   Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.

•   Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and pulse.

•   Transmits physician's orders and answers patient questions about treatments.

•   Diligent in maintaining patient confidence by keeping patient information secure while ensuring completion of

    confidential medical records.

•   Proper documentation in our EHR.

•   Retrieves necessary medical records from other facilities and primary care providers.

•   Prepares patient charts at least 3 days in advance. 

•   Retrieve and maintain any necessary prior authorizations for patients.

•   Schedules any necessary tests for patients as ordered by the Doctor.

•   Follows all schedules for work rotation given to the MA staff by management.

•   Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following the Northeast Ohio Nephrology

   Associates standards and procedures as well as complying with all legal regulations.

•   Ensures supply inventory is stocked, places orders with manager as needed and verifies receipt.

•   Serves and protects the Nephrologist practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal,

    state, and local requirements.

•   Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring

    opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

•   Flexibility in regards to work schedule

•   Performs various other tasks as assigned
